Man arrested after multiple people fatally shot near the Mississippi-Tennessee border

A person was arrested in connection to shootings Friday that led to “a number of fatalities” in a small Mississippi city outdoors Memphis, officers mentioned.

The incidents of gunfire occurred at about 12:30 p.m. CST in Arkabutla, Tate County, which is about 40 miles south of downtown Memphis, Tennessee, officers mentioned.

A Tate County Sheriff’s spokesperson mentioned there have been “a number of fatalities” and “we now have arrested the man who did it.”
