A local resident is gearing up for an exciting weekend as she competes in the prestigious Miss Mississippi competition.
Katelyn Perry, a resident of Gulfport, is heading to Vicksburg this weekend to participate in the highly anticipated Miss Mississippi competition.
Alongside 31 other women, Perry will be engaging in a week’s worth of events leading up to the crowning of the new Miss Mississippi.
For Perry, this marks her fifth year competing in this competition and she has her sights set on claiming the title. She has devoted herself to becoming the best version of herself, hoping to impress the judges. “I have had a lot of mock interviews, and I’ve been staying in the gym, making sure that I am physically at my best. I’ve been working on my talent, picking out wardrobe, and making appearances throughout my community. I have an action plan for my year as Miss Mississippi that I am so ready and have been praying to put into motion.”
Perry is the sole representative from the Coast in this competition, showcasing the region’s exceptional talent and beauty. The crowning of the 2023 Miss Mississippi will take place on Saturday, June 10th at 8 p.m.
