I-40 Mississippi River Bridge to undergo lane closures
WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (WMC) – Arkansas Division of Transportation stated the Mississippi River Bridge may have single- lane closures for about two weeks. It’ll start Saturday, June 18, if climate permits.
It is a continuation of the spring inspection to carry out extra ultrasonic testing of welds west of the bridge’s major arch spans.
The surface westbound lane closures are anticipated to start Monday, June 20.
ARDOT stated the inspection could often require simultaneous lane closures of the surface lanes in every course. Just one lane of site visitors in every course might be closed at a time and might be restricted to the next instances:
- Westbound exterior: Mon-Fri | 5:30a.m. – 3:30p.m.
- Eastbound exterior: Mon-Fri | 8:30a.m. – 7:30p.m.
- Both WB or EB exterior: Sat-Solar | 7a.m. – 7p.m
