Headlines – Anne Arundel County Employees Help in Mississippi Recovery Efforts

Annapolis, Maryland (September 10, 2022)- 4 Anne Arundel County DPW staff depart at the moment for a two-week mission to assist water restoration efforts in Jackson Mississippi.  Two weeks in the past, rainfall of historic proportions flooded Mississippi’s Pearl River, crippling the O.B. Curtis water remedy plant, rendering it unable to supply 150,000 residents with secure ingesting water.  Jackson Mississippi is requesting help to revive water remedy functionality and distribution to its residents who’re at present below a boil water order.

In response, Anne Arundel County is sending a water plant operator, electrician, mechanical supervisor, and instrumentation technician to help in establishing a constant provide of secure ingesting water for the residents.  Employees are grateful for the chance to supply help to Jackson residents.   Reimbursement of travel-related bills shall be supplied by Mississippi and/or Federal Emergency Administration.
