Florida football lands commitment from 5-star Edge out of Mississippi
Florida football landed a commitment from 5-star EDGE prospect Jamonta Waller Monday evening, the Gators’ 9th commitment in the last week. Waller is considered to be the No. 1 player out of the state of Mississippi and was crystal ball’d to Ole Miss prior to Monday’s commitment.
Waller is a physical specimen. He stands at 6-2, 225 pounds and also runs track and field at Picayune Memorial HS in MS.
He chose the Gators over the likes of Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn and Penn State.

As stated earlier, the Gators are on some kind of roll right now. Florida currently holds the nation’s No. 5 overall recruiting class in the 2024 cycle, now including three 5-star prospects: QB DJ Lagway, S Zavier Filsaime and of course now Waller.
247Sports ranks Waller as the No. 28 prospect in the nation, as well as the No. 5 edge rusher.
