Chemical spill leaks into creek in DeSoto County

HERNANDO, Miss. (WMC) – There was a reported chemical spill in Hernando, Mississippi.

The chemical spill resulted from a fireplace at Schultz Xtruded Merchandise, a enterprise positioned close to MacCracken Street.

The native hearth division shortly responded to the hearth, officers say.

DeSoto County officers verify that the hearth is because of a container that housed Hydrofluoric Acid that resulted within the chemical leaking into the Mussacuna Creek.
