Bollinger Closes $15M Acquisition of Halter Marine, New Name: ‘Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding’ – USNI News

The Mississippi shipyard that’s constructing the Coast Guard’s subsequent heavy icebreaker has formally modified possession, the corporate introduced on Monday.

Louisiana-based Bollinger Shipyards finalized the acquisition of the Halter Marine and ST Engineering Halter Marine Offshore (STEHMO) shipyard following the shut of a $15 million take care of former Singapore-based ST Engineering, Bollinger stated.

“The acquisition contains 378 acres comprising two shipyards in Pascagoula and two dormant yards north of Pascagoula. The newly acquired yards have been renamed Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding and Bollinger Mississippi Restore,” reads the assertion.
“The Pascagoula amenities are strategically situated with direct, deep-water entry to the Gulf of Mexico and homes company workplace house, engineering, fabrication, warehousing and a international commerce zone. The shipyard consists of 225,000 sq. toes of lined manufacturing space in the principle fabrication meeting buildings.”

The fast acquisition of the Mississippi yards comes after former mum or dad ST Engineering sustained a mixed internet loss from 2017 and 2021 of about $256 million throughout the 2 yards, in line with a press release from the corporate supplied to USNI Information final week.

In 2019, Halter Marine received a $745.9 million design contract to construct the primary heavy icebreaker for the Coast Guard as a part of its Polar Safety Cutter program, with choices for 2 extra for a complete of $1.9 billion if all of the choices are exercised.
