HUMPHREYS CO., Miss. (WLBT) – The heroic actions of two men in Humphreys County saved a store owner and his mother.

The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office says Joseph Mays and Willie Hayes were driving in Louise when they saw smoke coming from the back of Lee Hong Company grocery.

The sheriff’s office says the two men broke the glass of the store with a brick to get the store owner’s mother, who is in her 90s, out.

They then found the store owner, Stan Lee, collapsed on the ground and were able to get him out. He is being treated at UMMC.
