Detectives have arrested an 18-year-old from Miami on allegations he took half within the homicide of a teen discovered shot to loss of life in a automotive in Kendall on Thursday night time.

Antonio Varona, 18, was booked into jail Friday afternoon for the killing of 18-year-old Jeffrey Lopez. The slain teen was discovered shot to loss of life in a black Infiniti on the 10300 block of Southwest fifty fifth Avenue simply earlier than 10 p.m. on Thursday night time. The capturing befell close to St. Timothy’s Catholic Church.

The capturing occurred throughout a “narcotics transaction” gone awry, in keeping with an arrest report by Miami-Dade murder detective Christopher Santos.

Based on the arrest report, Varona was discovered “on scene” and ran away when officers approached. He was ultimately arrested and confessed “as to his involvement” within the killing.

The report didn’t specify if Varona was the one who fired the weapon, or if anybody else was concerned.
