MIAMI – Comedian Tommy Davidson was at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park ready to celebrate on Monday in Miami.

The park, at 6000 NW 32 Court, was the destination of the annual parade along Northwest 54 Street from Seventh Avenue to 32 Avenue.

Davidson, Bob Duggan, and Nancy Cartwright were this year’s grand marshals.

“His dream was to make sure that everyone got what they needed,” Davidson said about King’s vision.

The local food vendors at the park’s cookout included a line of family businesses and a student entrepreneur.

Miriam Jackson, the 15-year-old owner of Miriam’s Lemonade Stand, said working there was a way to honor civil rights activists.

“Being here, just shows them that they didn’t do it for nothing,” Miriam said.
