Man accused of throwing fatal punch at southwest Miami-Dade pub
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police arrested a Miami-Dade man Wednesday on a manslaughter cost after investigators accused him of fatally punching a person at a southwest Miami-Dade pub in June.
The incident occurred on June 22 at Duffy’s Tavern at 2108 SW 57th Ave. within the county’s Coral Terrace space, police stated.
Based on an arrest warrant, police obtained surveillance video exhibiting 55-year-old Placido Garza punching 52-year-old Robert Padgett, Jr. at round 8 p.m. that night time.
The video depicted Padgett approaching Garza, who was sitting at a desk on the institution’s patio, the warrant stated. Based on investigators, after a quick dialog, Garza stood up and punched Padgett, inflicting him to fall to the bottom.

Medical doctors pronounced Padgett useless June 25 and an post-mortem later confirmed he died of blunt pressure head trauma. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner categorised his dying as a murder.

After interviewing tavern workers on June 27, detectives stated they discovered that the suspect labored for American Airways and was named “Garza.” A waiter stated Garza instructed him that he punched Padgett.
