Black Lion Expands Miami Portfolio with Gaia Restaurant in Miami Beach

Retail landlord Robert Rivani has snagged yet one more upscale restaurant in Miami Seashore’s South of Fifth neighborhood. 

The homeowners of Gaia, a high-end Greek-Mediterranean idea, filed plans to open on the bottom ground of the Marea condominium constructing, positioned at 801 South Pointe Drive, adjoining to Washington Avenue. 

The 9,534-square-foot restaurant will function a eating room and a bar with about 164 seats, “an unique members membership, or a VIP eating space” with roughly 50 seats, and a sidewalk seating space with roughly 28 seats, in line with a proposal filed to Miami Seashore’s Planning Board. The out of doors part would shut service by midnight, and the VIP membership would shut two hours later. 

“Owing its title to the Greek goddess of Earth, each facet of Gaia Miami Seashore’s menu, décor and environment is impressed by the Earth and its basic parts,” the submitting states.

The restaurant chain has places in London, Monte-Carlo, Doha and Dubai. If authorised, the Miami Seashore outpost can be the idea’s fifth location.

It’s the newest high-end restaurant lease for Rivani, founder and CEO of Black Lion Funding Group, who has snapped up trophy retail property throughout the Miami space over the previous two years. 

In 2021, the investor bought the 18,260-square-foot ground-floor retail base of the seven-story Marea constructing for $19.1 million. Crimson steakhouse and Kosushi occupy the opposite half of the house.

Earlier this week, simply two blocks east from the Marea condominium, Rivani introduced that Philippe by Philippe Chow would open on the One Ocean condominium. That announcement got here 4 months after Rivani purchased the 13,500-square-foot house for $12 million.  

Movie star hotspot Catch is set to occupy the 22,000 sq. toes of ground-floor retail on the close by Continuum condominium complicated, which Black Lion bought for $11.5 million in April.

Throughout Biscayne Bay in Brickell, Miami nightlife mogul David Grutman and Latin famous person Dangerous Bunny collectively opened a steakhouse known as Gekko on the bottom ground of the SLS LUX Brickell condominium constructing. Black Lion had acquired the 11,000-square-foot house for $13.5 million in 2021.

Representatives for Black Lion and a lawyer representing Gaia’s homeowners didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark.
