Two Maryland women’s basketball players picked in first round of WNBA Draft

Monday was an enormous night time for the Maryland ladies’s basketball program.

Two of its gamers have been chosen within the first spherical of the WNBA Draft.

Senior ahead Diamond Miller was chosen second general by the Minnesota Lynx. 

She was drafted solely behind South Carolina’s Aliyah Boston who went first to Indiana.

Miller led the Terps in scoring and rebounds this season. She was an All-Massive Ten First-team choice.

Miller was the Terps highest draft decide 2009.

Then, Terps guard Abby Meyers was picked eleventh general by the Dallas Wings.

Meyers performed this season for Maryland after transferring from Princeton.

She averaged 14 factors per sport and shot 39 p.c from the 3-point arc.

Ten gamers who’ve performed for Maryland coach Brenda Frese have been chosen within the first spherical of the WNBA Draft.
