Sailfish leaps out of water, injures Maryland woman off Florida coast

STUART, Fla. (AP) — A 70-year-old girl was stabbed by the invoice of a 100-pound sailfish that leapt out of the water and attacked her as her companions had been making an attempt to reel it in on a ship close to the Florida coast, authorities mentioned.

The sailfish stabbed the girl from Arnold, Maryland’ within the groin space with its pointed invoice on Tuesday whereas she was standing within the boat as two companions tried to deliver it in on a fishing line about two miles (3.2 kilometers) offshore from Stuart, Florida, in line with a report from the Martin County Sheriff’s Workplace.

The companions utilized stress to the wound, and the girl was taken to Stuart for medical remedy.

The girl advised deputies that the assault occurred so quick that she did not have time to react, in line with the sheriff’s workplace report.

Sailfish are among the many quickest fish species within the ocean and, just like the swordfish, are recognizable by their prolonged, pointed payments.
