Pitt Hosts 2025 Maryland 3-Star DE Kamden Laudenslager

While Pitt didn’t host any recruits on official visits this past weekend, that doesn’t mean that they didn’t have any targeted players on campus.

In a recruiting visit that was put together at the last minute, Pitt hosted a talented defensive end that holds an offer from the program.

2025 three-star defensive end Kamden Laudenslager from McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Md. spent the day at Pitt on Friday, which was his first time in the city.

247sports rates Laudenslager (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) as one of the Top 30 edge rushers in the Class of 2025 and the No. 18 overall prospect in Maryland. At this stage of his recruitment, Laudenslager also holds offers from rivals in Penn State and West Virginia, ACC schools in Boston College, Duke, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest, Big Ten schools in Maryland and Wisconsin, as well as UMass, Old Dominion, Tennessee and Toledo.

Pitt extended Laudenslager his offer one month ago, which came from defensive line coach Charlie Partridge and wide receivers coach Tiquan Underwood.

Pittsburgh Sports Now had the chance to talk with Laudenslager on Saturday about what brought him to Pitt and got his first impressions of the program.

“I actually live in Pennsylvania, in the Harrisburg area, but I go to school at McDonogh,” Laudenslager said. “I was supposed to go to the Ray Lewis Linebacker’s Camp this weekend, but it got cancelled. So, on Friday, I was looking for somewhere to visit and I called up Pitt and they made it happen on a one-day notice, which was great. Prior to this weekend, I met Coach Partridge when he visited our campus one time and I really liked talking to him. Then a couple of weeks ago, I finally got the offer from Pitt and that’s when I knew that I wanted to come up and visit in order to meet the rest of the coaching staff.”

“We did a little tour of the facilities first and then we did a tour of the campus and saw the Cathedral. I then had a meeting with Coach Narduzzi for about thirty minutes and then did a photo shoot. The thing that stood out to me about the visit was that all the players seemed really happy, and they all really wanted to be there. All the players were very welcoming to me, coming up and introducing themselves. I really liked Coach Narduzzi. Overall, it was just a great visit.”

Laudenslager describes the strengths of his game as his pass rusher ability, his motor and his overall toughness.

This last-minute visit worked out well for Pitt because Laudenslager tells PSN that he doesn’t plan on making any more visits this summer and instead just wants to focus on his training and getting ready for the upcoming season.
