Here’s a roundup of state men’s college lacrosse action on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Division I

No. 6 Maryland 12, No. 20 Richmond 11, 2OT: Owen Murphy (Johns Hopkins) scored the game-winner with 2:55 left in the second overtime to lift the visiting Terps (1-0) over the Spiders (0-1). Maryland has won back-to-back season openers against Richmond and 31 in a row overall. Aidan O’Neil scored the tying goal for Richmond with 7:32 left to play to force overtime. Neither team led by more than three goals. Luke Wierman broke the school record for faceoff wins in a career, winning 17 of 29 to reach 654. Logan McNaney made his first start at goalie since missing the final 14 games last season because of a knee injury and made 13 saves. Braden Erksa had a hat trick and Daniel Maltz scored twice for Maryland, which hosts Loyola Maryland next Saturday.

Loyola Maryland 18, No. 12 Georgetown 10: Evan James scored five goals to lead the host Greyhounds (1-0) over the Hoyas (0-1). Loyola scored five goals in the first, second and fourth quarters. Other top scorers for Loyola included Matthew Minicus and Adam Poitras with four goals each. Jordan Wray led Georgetown with five goals.
