MM 8.6: Maryland football earns first class of 2026 commit with 3-star cornerback

Maryland football earned its first class of 2026 commitment Monday, when three-star cornerback Khmari Bing announced his pledge to the Terps on X.

Listed at 5-foot-11.5 and 180 pounds, Bing attends St. Frances Academy in Baltimore. He is the No. 46-ranked cornerback in his class and the No. 11-ranked player from Maryland, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Bing’s decision came down to Maryland, Auburn, Miami, Michigan and Tennessee before he ultimately chose the Terps.

The Maryland Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2024 was announced Monday. Eight former Terps will be inducted this year.

Former Maryland baseball player Matt Shaw earned Southern League Player of the Week with the Tennessee Smokies, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

Maryland women’s golf athletes Patricie Mackova and Virginia Bossi were named All-American Scholars by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association.
