A Maryland man is accused of promoting improperly saved oysters for a charity occasion and harvesting them for business functions with no license.

The Maryland Pure Sources Police charged John Vallandingham, 67, of St. Mary’s County, with failure to acquire a tidal fish license, failure to pay the oyster surcharge, and different associated fees.

Police tracked oysters harvested from the Wicomico River to a storage belonging to Vallandingham weeks earlier than they noticed him promote six bushels from the property.
