Maryland State Police to expand enforcement on I-83

BALTIMORE — Maryland State Police will prolong patrol duties on Interstate 83 from the Baltimore County line to Fayette Avenue in Baltimore Metropolis beginning July 1.

Three regulation enforcement companies in Maryland and the Baltimore Police Division agreed to offer concurrent jurisdiction over I-83 and Route 295 in Baltimore Metropolis. The three police companies embrace the Maryland Division of State Police (MDSP), the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police and the Maryland Capitol Police.

At the moment, Maryland State Police are answerable for requires service on I-83 from the Pennsylvania line to the Baltimore County/Baltimore Metropolis line. Beginning at midnight, Maryland state troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack will prolong prison and site visitors enforcement to the top of I-83 at Fayette Avenue. The Maryland Division of Transportation’s Coordinated Highways Motion Response Group (CHART) will present help with street closures and detours.
