Maryland moves closer to closing $1.4 billion deficit with new budget proposal

Maryland is advancing efforts to address its $1.4 billion deficit as Gov. Wes Moore unveils a nearly $71 billion budget proposal this week.

The plan includes $1.8 billion in cuts, fund shifts, and transfers.

Dr. Daraius Irani, vice president of business and public engagement at Towson University, is among those weighing in on the proposal.
