Maryland man charged with multiple oyster violations

Authorities have charged a person they are saying dedicated a number of oyster violations in. St. Mary’s County

Maryland Pure Sources Police say 67-year-old John Vallandingham was harvesting oysters from the Wicomico River and promoting them out of his storage. Police say they tracked the oysters and noticed him promote six bushels from the property

Officers say the oysters have been being saved improperly and posed a well being threat. Additionally they say Vallandingham was additionally working and not using a license.

Maryland Pure Sources Police 

Officers seized the oysters and charged Vallandingham with a number of violations together with failure to acquire a tidal fish license for business exercise, and catching oysters for business functions and not using a license.

He faces fines as much as $28,000 and one 12 months in jail if convicted.
