PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD — A 33-year-old District Heights man found in the lobby of an apartment building holding a sword has been charged in connection to the stabbing death of 63-year-old man who police believe was his neighbor.

On Friday shortly before 6:30 p.m., Prince George’s police officers were called to an apartment building located in the 2100 block of Brooks Drive for a report of a stabbing. They found Aaron Bynum standing in the lobby holding a sword. He was ordered to drop the weapon and was taken into custody without incident, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Officers found Anthony Cunningham dead with multiple stab wounds. A preliminary investigation has shown that both men lived in the apartment building but it’s unclear if they knew each other, the police department disclosed.
