Could Maryland Transfer Tamarcus Cooley Commit to NC State for a 2nd Time?

Maryland Defensive Back Tamarcus Cooley flipped his commitment from NC State to Maryland on signing day last December, but announced today that he is entering the Transfer Portal after his Freshman season.

Cooley played in 4 games for Maryland as a True Freshman this year, seeing defensive snaps in 3 of those (23 snaps), finishing with 4 tackles. He has missed the past three games due to injury. Since Cooley played only 4 games, he will be a Redshirt Freshman wherever he lands next year.

If you go to his Twitter page, he has been busy ‘liking‘ anything NC State football related.

Also, NC State True Freshman Brandon Cisse, who was a member of the NC State 2023 recruiting class, of which Cooley was a part of, instantly gave a shout out to his friend.

In the picture above, Cisse was on a recruiting visit with Cooley and Wolfpack Freshman Safety Zack Myers.

If NC State ends up extending an offer to Cooley again, I wouldn’t be shocked to see him end up coming home to Raleigh.
