The shooting happened after midnight Sunday in the 800 block of Gretna Court near the Brooklyn Homes area, according to a police statement.

Officers are responding to a “mass shooting incident” Sunday morning in Baltimore, Maryland, police say. The number of victims and degree of their injuries have not been shared.

The shooting happened after midnight Sunday in the 800 block of Gretna Court near the Brooklyn Homes area, according to a police statement. WTOP contacted a department spokesperson who confirmed the original reports of a shooting in that area.

Police preliminarily believe the shooting occurred during a party in that area. Drivers in the area should expect a significant police presence as first responders are fully dispatched to that scene.

Officials have yet to release additional information on the number of people shot during the incident or said whether anyone has died due to the shooting.

A press conference with those details is expected in the coming hours.
