BALTIMORE- Baltimore native and former Maryland Terrapin Deonte Banks was drafted by the New York Giants Thursday within the first spherical of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The cornerback was chosen with the twenty fifth total decide.

Banks, at 6 toes tall, performed highschool soccer at Edgewood Excessive Faculty in Harford County.

He went on to play on the College of Maryland.

Final season, Banks recorded 38 tackles, 9 go breakups and an interception.

He ran a 4.35 40-yard-dash on the NFL Mix in Indianapolis.

Banks is the 18th participant Maryland program historical past to be chosen within the first spherical. During the last six NFL Drafts, Maryland has had three first spherical choices (DJ Moore, Darnell Savage Jr.), the fifth most of any Massive Ten program.
