LAFAYETTE, LA – This Thursday on Houston Life, the crew is headed east to Louisiana! We will learn the story of Louisiana’s early settlers at Vermilionville Living History Museum & Folklife Park as Derrick gets a lesson about the way early settlers lived and worked. Lenny Juarez will get up close with wildlife on an airboat tour of the Atchafalaya Basin Swamp. See what he encounters along the way! Local musicians will share the music of Louisiana and help us understand how Cajun, Creole, Zydeco, and Swamp Pop music came to be. Mel Camp will sample her way through Cajun country with some of the best bites in the South. (Pro Tip: Don’t forget to try the boudin! It has its own festival here.) Then, we will cool off with a cold one with a tour of Parish Brewing Company. While many know the brewery for its popular “Ghost in the Machine” double IPA, Parish has so much more to offer.

Plus, win a trip to experience it for yourself!

Register for a chance to win a 3 day, 2 night getaway to Lafayette, LA that includes a two night hotel stay and a Cajun Country VIP pass for access to local attractions.
