Storm drowning victim named by Caddo coroner

SHREVEPORT, La. – A Shreveport man who drowned when his vehicle was swamped by high storm waters last weekend has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner’s office.

James Jefferson, 58, died around 5:45 p.m. in an underpass in the 4400 block of Hearne Avenue, just south of Midway Street. Jefferson could not escape the rising water. He was recovered around 2:45 a.m. on June 4.

An autopsy was performed.
