Louisiana toddler dies from gunshot wound
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – A toddler in Lafayette has died from a gunshot wound throughout an incident in an Evangeline Thruway resort room.
In line with Lafayette Police, officers responded to an area resort within the 1300 block of NE Evangeline Thruway round 5:30 p.m. Saturday night relating to a toddler with a gunshot wound.
The toddler was instantly transported to an space hospital. Detectives say {that a} member of the family had stepped out of the room after they heard a gunshot from contained in the room. When re-entering the room, they discovered the toddler with a gunshot wound within the stomach. The toddler later died on the hospital.
The taking pictures incident remains to be underneath investigation by the Lafayette Police Division.
