Louisiana State Distance Champion Rhen Langley Signs with the Tigers

BATON ROUGE, La. – Rhen Langley, the 2022 Louisiana state cross nation champion, has signed a national-letter-of-intent with the LSU males’s monitor and discipline program, coach Dennis Shaver introduced Thursday.

Langley, a senior at Zachary (La.) Excessive Faculty, will enroll at LSU in 2023 and can be eligible to compete starting with the 2023-24 season.

“We’re excited to have Rhen be a part of our distance group subsequent season,” Shaver mentioned. “He can be a contributor in cross nation, in addition to within the indoor and out of doors monitor seasons.”

On the Louisiana Excessive Faculty Championships on November 14 in Natchitoches, La., Langley gained the boys’ state cross nation title in 16:07.02 over the three-mile course.

He was additionally the general winner at regional competitors on November 3, ending in 15:26.30 to finish the three-mile race over 20 seconds sooner than the closest competitor.

Langley established a personal-best time of 15:20.5 on October 8 on the Catholic Excessive Invitational in Baton Rouge.
