Heart of Louisiana: Cajun costumes
BRANCH, La. (WVUE) – Mardi Gras in Cajun country is nothing like the big city parades. Here, it’s the Courir de Mardi Gras, with riders on horseback chasing chickens, wearing wild fringed costumes, tall pointed hats and bizarre masks.
If you want to immerse yourself in one of the Cajun Mardi Gras celebrations, you will need a different style of costume. Luckily, there is a small shop in the community of Branch that produces hundreds of Cajun costumes, for all sizes and ages, in the Heart of Louisiana.
