Buc-ee’s, a travelers destination for Beaver Nuggets, gas and merchandise, is possibly coming to Lafayette, according to Lafayette Economic Development Authority.

One of the proposed locations for the Lafayette Buc-ee’s is near Interstate 10 close to Louisiana Avenue, according to documents.

“LEDA can confirm that we are working to bring Buc-ee’s to Lafayette Parish,” CEO Mandi Mitchell said in a news release. “While progress is being made, the deal is not yet finalized, as there are several critical aspects of site due diligence still in progress. We are excited for Lafayette and the potential to bring additional retail sales and jobs to our community.”

Since opening its first store in Texas in 1982, Buc-ee’s locations include Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Colorado and now Louisiana.
