Auburn baseball’s street to Omaha started at Plainsman Park in opposition to Southeastern Louisiana in sport one of many Auburn regional.
The Tigers exploded for 11 runs within the first inning, with six of these runs coming off of dwelling runs by switch-hitting Cole Foster, who hit two dwelling runs within the inning, one from all sides of the plate.
The massive lead within the 1st inning allowed Auburn to cruise to a 19-7 victory. Auburn ended the sport with seven dwelling runs. Foster ended the sport with three dwelling runs, Nate LaRue recorded two, and Sonny DiChiara and Bobby Peirce every hit one. Hint Brilliant recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts in 5.0 innings on the mound.
The Tigers would maintain their offensive firepower going over the ultimate two video games of the regional by defeating Florida State and UCLA by a mixed rating of 32-11. Auburn would then win the Corvallis Tremendous Regional, and competed within the Faculty World Collection for the second time in three seasons.
This weekend, Southeastern Louisiana returns to Plainsman Park for a three-game set and hopes to get revenge on the Tigers.
