April 30 is Election Day in Louisiana

ARKLATEX (KSLA) – Voters throughout northwest Louisiana will head to the polls Saturday, April 30 to deal with a sequence of points.

Mansfield residents will vote for a brand new mayor. Democrat Thomas Jones is going through incumbent John Mayweather, Sr. (D).

In Natchitoches Parish, Natchez residents may even vote for his or her new mayor. Patsy Ward Hoover, who has no political affiliation, is squaring off in opposition to Democratic incumbent Rosia Lee Humphery.

There are a number of propositions for Caddo and Bossier Colleges.

Bossier residents will deal with three propositions. All of them, in line with the varsity district, will immediately fund important day-to-day operations of the varsity district. These are property tax renewals totaling almost $50 million. KSLA is instructed the funds shall be used to pay for instructor salaries, advantages, and sustaining district buildings.

Caddo Parish voters may even deal with an identical sequence of tax renewals that complete upwards of $65 million. Caddo Colleges tells KSLA these tax {dollars} account for 47 % of the district’s income. They are saying the three propositions assist pay for classroom know-how, upkeep of the parish’s bus fleet, and educator’s salaries.
