WR transfer and Bluegrass native Fred Farrier scores offer from Kentucky
The transfer portal is picking back up as the window has reopened for players to enter and take visits as of January 3rd.
The Kentucky Wildcats have been quite active in the portal in the last few days handing out offers to several defensive backs in South Alabama transfer Marquise Robinson and UAB transfer BJ Mayes.
Now, another UAB Blazer is on the Cats’ radar.
UAB wideout transfer Fred Farrier entered the transfer portal back in mid-December, and on Wednesday, he announced on Twitter that he’d received an offer from Kentucky.
Alongside the Cats, he has also received offers from Tulane, Coastal Carolina, and James Madison.
Farrier, a 6-foot-1 and 180-pound receiver from Frankfort, spent two seasons in Birmingham playing for the Blazers. During his time there, he totaled 29 catches for 389 yards and two touchdowns.
A former 3-star recruit, he was considered a top-15 prospect in the Bluegrass State in the class of 2021.
For Kentucky, they have been active on the offensive side of the ball in the portal, especially at the receiver position. With Ja’Mori Maclin and Raymond Cottrell already in the mix, it appears that Liam Coen and Mark Stoops are looking to add some more depth to the receiver room as a whole.
With the Kentucky connection, this could be a recruitment to watch closely.
