The Kentucky Wildcats returned to Lexington this weekend with a huge victory over the Florida Gators.

You might have seen that some players headed to the PBR Rodeo at Rupp Arena on Saturday night, but on Sunday evening, several players went to watch Link Academy take on Huntington Prep at Woodford County.

The big attraction? 2025 5-star guards Jasper Johnson and Darryn Peterson.

The current Cats to make the trip were DJ Wagner, Reed Sheppard, Antonio Reeves, Justin Edwards, and Adou Thiero.

Not only were this handful of players in attendance, but John Calipari and Chin Coleman arrived to see their hopeful backcourt duo.

Also in attendance were coaches from North Carolina, Missouri, and Louisville. Head coaches Hubert Davis (North Carolina) and Dennis Gates (Missouri) were there to represent their programs.

Johnson put on a show as well, as he finished the evening with 37 points and earned MVP honors. He hit five triples in the first quarter alone.

In his first game back at his old high school, Johnson showed why he is a top player in 2025.

Now, let’s hope the Kentucky staff can bring him back to the Bluegrass State to play his college basketball.
