Miss Kentucky Mallory Hudson prepares to compete for Miss America crown
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The 96th Miss America Pageant is this Sunday.
Fifty-one women from all 50 states and Washington D.C. will be competing for college scholarships and the opportunity of a lifetime.
Miss Kentucky Mallory Hudson is among those competing in Orlando, Florida, this week for the opportunity to wear the Miss America crown.
The Bowling Green native and UK student will be competing in interview, talent, fitness, and evening wear. Hudson competed for several years before winning the coveted crown of Miss Kentucky, winning quite a bit of scholarship money along the way.
“Through those years, I’ve earned $19,000 to further my education at the University of Kentucky, where I’m now graduating debt-free in May. And so, it’s so important to me. It really has changed my life and inspired me to further my education as well, which I think is what the Miss America mission is all about,” said Hudson Now. “I want to attend law school to become a disability rights attorney, which aligns with my service initiative and inclusive stages.”
While Mallory serves the state of Kentucky, she will be sharing her community service initiative with others.
Her CSI provides theatrical and artistic opportunities for individuals with special needs. Over $250,000 in scholarships will be awarded at the 2024 Miss America & Miss America’s Teen Competitions this week.
You too can cheer Mallory on. The Miss America Pageant will be airing live Sunday night for free on the Miss America YouTube page.
