Liam McNeeley remains one of the top players in the 2024 class, yet he has yet to decide where he will play his college basketball.

McNeeley is currently ranked as the No. 16 overall player and the No. 4 overall small forward in the class.

Prior to John Calipari leaving for Arkansas, McNeeley and the Kentucky Wildcats were being talked about a lot as a potential landing spot.

After Calipari left, many thought the conversations with McNeeley would go with him. However, that does not seem to be the case.

On Wednesday night, Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio reported that new Kentucky head coach Mark Pope had a zoom call with McNeeley Wednesday night.

McNeeley has always been known as a shooter, but he has much more to his game than that and can attack defenses in a multitude of ways. He would be a very good fit for Pope’s offense in Lexington.

It is yet to be seen if the Cats have a legit shot at landing McNeeley, but this is a good sign as the 6-foot-7 forward makes his final decision.
