The college volleyball season will end in December at the KFC Yum! Center.

Will Louisville, Kentucky, Wisconsin and Nebraska be among the Final Four teams? Some might make it, but there are no guarantees.

The perennial powers are ushering in the season today in Louisville at the AVCA First Serve Showcase.

The Wildcats will face the Cornhuskers at 7 p.m. today, followed by the Cardinals and Badgers at about 9 p.m.

The teams are in the top 10 AVCA preseason rankings: Nebraska (2), Wisconsin (3), Louisville (6) and Kentucky (9).

This is Dani Busboom Kelly’s eighth season with the Cardinals. Under her direction, the Cardinals have advanced to two Final Fours and four Elite Eights, winning four ACC titles.

Wildcats coach Craig Skinner is entering his 20th season with a record of 445-147.

He is the Wildcats’ all-time winningest coach and the first SEC volleyball coach to lead his team to an NCAA title.
