The Kentucky Wildcats have a new transfer option for next season.
According to KSR’s Jacob Polacheck, Kentucky has been in contact with Miami (OH) center Reece Potter.
A 7-foot-1, 215-pound soon-to-be junior, Potter is a Lexington native who played for Lexington Catholic, so he has significant ties to the Bluegrass state. He’s primarily been a bench player for the Redhawks, having only started 11 career games.
This past season, Potter appeared in 30 games while recording 6.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 0.7 blocks per game in 17.1 minutes per contest. He shot 36.7% from deep on 2.0 attempts per game, so he is capable of knocking down 3s.
Potter may not be someone who raises the ceiling of a top-25 team, but he’d be a nice pickup following the loss of Travis Perry. And you can’t teach 7-foot-1. There are currently no 7-footers on the Kentucky basketball roster for next season.
