KSP: One arrested after barricade situation
MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (WKYT) – Kentucky State Police say its officers arrested a man after a barricade situation.
It happened on Kelsey Drive in Mount Vernon, off KY-461.
Trooper Scottie Pennington posted on Facebook at 11:30 Tuesday night that troopers were working an active barricade situation in that area.
He posted an update early Wednesday morning, saying that Post 11 London Troopers arrested 36-year-old Jason Cope at 4:18 a.m.
Trooper Pennington says in addition to facing seven counts of wanton endangerment and felony possession of a firearm, Cope also had two arrest warrants.
“I would like to express my admiration for the officers and troopers who have worked tirelessly in this situation, despite the harsh weather conditions of -2 degrees,” Pennington said on Facebook. “Thankfully, all officers returned home safely.”
This is a developing story.
