Koa Peat cuts list to 10 schools
The class of 2024 has come together for the Kentucky Wildcats quite nicely, and now John Calipari and his staff are starting to turn their attention to players in 2025.
With big names like AJ Dyansta, Darryn Peterson, and the Boozer twins still on the Cats’ radar, Koa Peat is another name that the BBN needs to keep on their radar.
Peat, a 6-foot-8 and 235-pound forward from Gilbert (AZ), received an offer from Kentucky back in April, and now the talented forward has trimmed his list to 10 schools which includes the Cats. Joe Tipton of On3 was the first to report the news.
Alongside UK, Peat has named Arizona, Arizona State, Texas, Baylor, Houston, North Carolina, Michigan, Duke, and UCLA as his finalists.
Peat has completed visits to three of the 10; Michigan (Sep. 1st), Texas (Sep. 29th), and North Carolina (Nov. 10th).
One thing that might get the fanbase excited about Peat is a scouting report from Brandon Jenkins of 247 Sports, in which he compares him to former Wildcat PJ Washington.
Outside of the visits, this recruitment has been a quiet one. Will the Cats be able to land a visit? If so, you would have to think they would be selling not only the success of Washington but will also now be pointing to their use of Tre Mitchell in this offense.
Going to be a fun one to watch.
Peat is currently ranked as a 5-star player in the class of 2025 and is considered the No. 5 player in the class, according to 247 Sports Composite.
