Kentucky State Police warn of jury, barcode scams

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Kentucky State Police are warning residents in Boyle County and the surrounding communities to be wary of spam jury duty calls.

According to KSP, people are being told they have missed jury duty, and they now have a warrant for their arrest.

They also said people are being asked to scan a barcode and pay a fine.

KSP asks that anyone who receives one of these phone calls hang up.

Anyone who receives a suspicious message is asked to contact authorities or the Office of the Kentucky Attorney General at 502-696-5389 or 888-432-9257.
