The 2025-26 Kentucky basketball roster is almost set. However, coach Mark Pope and his staff are looking to finish it off with Braydon Hawthorne, a currently unsigned player in the 2025 recruiting class per Travis Branham of 247Sports.

Hawthorne, a Huntington, West Virginia product, originally committed to West Virginia. A coaching change, however, saw him decommit and reopen his recruitment, and the Wildcats are one of the teams taking a hard look at him.

At 6’8″, Hawthorne has good size for the small forward position. He’s rated four stars by 247Sports, and is ranked as the number 71 player in the class. He’s the top prospect in the state, and the 16th ranked player at his position.

Next week, Hawthorne is scheduled to visit with Kentucky and Coach Pope. He is also visiting with West Virginia and their new coaching staff. He could also visit the Michigan Wolverines and Virginia Tech before making a decision.
