CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT)— Since the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals throughout the country have faced a large number of position vacancies.

However, according to a 2023 report by the Kentucky Hospital Association, hospitals are seeing that number lower.

CEO of the association Nancy Galvagni said hospitals are focusing on ways to get the younger generation to fill the vacant positions.

“Our members are looking at how can they design benefits that are going to be more attractive to a younger workforce,” she said.

While the number of vacancies is decreasing, Galvagni said the number of vacancies is still too high and there is more work that needs to be done.
