Death investigation underway in Pike County, Kentucky
PIKE COUNTY, Ky (WSAZ) – A death investigation is underway in Pike County, according to Kentucky State Police.
According to a news release, troopers with the KSP Pikeville Post received a call on Wednesday regarding a reported shooting in the Sidney community.
Troopers and investigators responded to a residence on North Big Creek Road where they discovered one person who died of gunshot wounds.
That person has been identified as William Chaney, 41 years old of Pikeville, according to KSP.
Chaney was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County Coroner’s Office.
This investigation will be presented to the Pike County Grand Jury for consideration.
