Courtland Ford among numerous Kentucky players to hit the transfer portal

The Kentucky Wildcats had a disappointing season.

Finishing with just one SEC win, they were 1-7 in conference play and 4-8 overall. The Cats won’t have a chance to compete in a bowl game, either.

When things don’t go as planned, players, especially in today’s college athletics landscape, don’t like sticking around.

Many of the Cats are hitting the transfer portal after the team’s season ended in a blowout loss to the Louisville Cardinals in rivalry Week Saturday. The Cats were throttled 41-14 at home.

With that sad end to a forgettable season, the Cats have several players looking to take their talents elsewhere.

Khamari Anderson is one of them and has two years of eligibility remaining. Here’s his announcement post on Twitter.

Tight end Tanner Lemaster will be joining him in the portal and has three years of eligibility remaining.

Redshirt freshman linebacker Jayvant Brown also announced his intentions to go portaling. He will have three years of eligibility remaining after redshirting this season. He was a top-500 recruit who Kentucky flipped from Michigan in the class of 2023, but he never played much outside of special teams.

Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Tommy Ziesmer was another defender who announced his decision to enter the portal. The Danville native was a class of 2023 signee who played in just four games this season.

Finally, we have Courtland Ford, an offensive tackle. He didn’t show much this season but was originally a 3-star tackle from Texas and a notable transfer from USC. This report came via On3. Ford was competing to be Kentucky’s starting right tackle this season, but injuries limited him to just two games.
