ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A person was shot to death outside a Georgia State University dorm early Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The Atlanta Police Department (APD) said around 1:40 p.m. that officers responded to 120 Piedmont Avenue NE in reference to a person shot.

The address is listed as an apartment complex across the street from the University Commons dorm.

According to APD’s preliminary investigation, police believe the shooting happened at the nearby RaceTrac store, where multiple people have been shot over the last year, the department said.
