Georgia woman indicted for theft in DeKalb Co.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A Georgia woman was indicted by a DeKalb County grand jury for stealing over $2000 from a business, according to court documents obtained by WAFF.

Ciara Gay is accused of stealing $2,500 from Dr. Emily Carter in December 2023.

The indictment states Gay is charged with attempted theft by deception – 1st degree.

She was previously charged in Madison and Jackson Counties for related fraud charges. In Jackson County, Gay was accused of posing as a deputy to act as a bail bondsman to keep people from being arrested.
