ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Heading into the final day of the regular season, the Georgia Swarm needed nothing short of a miracle to qualify for the NLL playoffs.

Miracle received.

The Swarm defeated top seed Buffalo 14-11 on Saturday night at Gas South Arena, and even then needed some help from other teams in the league to advance, but at the end of the night it was Georgia’s pro lacrosse team finding a way to fight another day.

“We obviously would’ve liked to be in a better position but we’re in,” team captain Jordan MacIntosh said. “I think we have a little bit of a memory from last year. We played this Buffalo team in the first round and lost. Played a really good game and one we thought we could’ve won. We’re really excited to be back in and have a chance to make a run.”

Buffalo scored with 5:54 remaining in the third quarter to take an 11-8 lead; the Bandits would not score again.

Andrew Kew led Georgia with four goals and four assists, while goalkeeper Brett Dobson recorded 34 total saves.

With the win, the Swarm finish the 2024-25 season with a winning record at Gas South Arena (5-4).

The National Lacrosse League will announce its postseason schedule once all Week 21 games have concluded.
