Georgia plays ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ at practice field before Alabama game
Georgia is trying to be a place where the skies are so blue, too.
The Bulldogs blared Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” on Monday at the practice field, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
It’s not surprising, considering No. 1/2 Georgia will face No. 4 on Saturday (6:30 p.m. CT, ABC) at Bryant-Denny Stadium. It’s frankly smart preparation, considering the Bulldogs will hear the song in Tuscaloosa on Saturday.
The game figures to be quite the spectacle. Not only will it be a matchup between two top four teams, but it is the first time that Georgia (3-0) will have played in Tuscaloosa since 2007 with a full crowd (The last time was in 2020 during the COVID-19 season). The game also figures to have significant SEC and College Football Playoff implications. College GameDay will hold its show in town, and former President Donald Trump plans to attend.
The Georgia practice playlist surely includes more than “Sweet Home Alabama” but now we know at least one song on the list. Maybe even “Dixieland Delight” will be on it, too.
